About Us

Genelle Edwards, CEO and owner of Empowerment Options has been dedicated to developing community living programs and integrated work settings in both the private and public sectors since 1974. She is devoted to enhancing services for people with retardation, and serves as a representative of various state-initiated task forces and work groups. Ms. Edwards is committed to providing quality services with a particular focus on respecting the choices and maintaining the individual rights of those she serves.

Our staff of professionals at Empowerment Options have experience creating programs to address the unique needs of those with developmental disabilities and related conditions. We work with other professionals in the community to provide specialized services for consumers in our community. Examples include:

10. Total communication support for persons who are hearing impaired;
11. Respite services through providers listed with the Texas Respite Network; and
12. Dental care for persons who experience extreme difficulty with dental procedures.

In addition, Empowerment Options employs a multi-tiered management team, which includes nurses, case workers and other professionals, to provide seamless support for the daily needs of individuals in our programs.
