Intermediate Care Facilities for Persons with Intellectual Disability (ICF-MR)
Empowerment Options owns or manages 16 group homes through the ICF-MR program in Harris, Liberty, Montgomery and Walker counties. We provide home-like settings where your loved one will live with 5 other individuals in a typical house, in a typical neighborhood. Our dedicated support staff provide around-the-clock service and are specially trained to meet the unique needs of consumers.
Each person living in an ICF-MR facility has an Individualized Program Plan (IPP) developed by an inter-disciplinary team of support. The team is generally made up of the individual and his or her family along with Empowerment Options staff members and other support professionals. This IPP informs staff so they know exactly what services and training will help your loved one to gain skills towards increasing independence. Training is based on the specific needs, choices and goals of individuals, and it is focused on daily living as well as community access and vocational skills development.
